The Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots are a continuation of the earlier pilot programs that ran from 2019 to 2024 – the Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot.
These earlier pilots had a similar goal but slightly different eligibility criteria and categories. They proved the strong demand for caregivers in Canada, paving the way for the current programs.
Application Caps for 2025–2026: Total cap: 5,500 applications, 2,750 applications under Child Care Pilot and 2,750 applications under Home Support Pilot.
The program opened on March 31st, 2025, and reached its cap shortly after. It is now closed for 2025.
