Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has finished sending out some 23,100 invitations to apply (ITA) to potential sponsors in the Parents and Grandparents Program for 2022. Please check the email address you used when submitting your Interest to Sponsor form in 2020.
If you have not received the ITA your parents or grandparents may still be eligible to come to Canada. They can apply for a super visa, which would let them visit for up to 5 years at a time, with multiple entries, over a 10-year period.
After conducting its lottery between October 12 and October 20, IRCC has confirmed on its website that it has concluded the distribution of 23,100 invitations to apply to sponsors in the 2022 PGP pool.
Similar to the 2021 PGP, IRCC decided not to allow a new round of interest to sponsor submissions this year. The decision was made to issue ITAs for the 2022 PGP to more of the interested Canadian sponsors who submitted an expression of interest in 2020.
