PNP enables Canadian provinces to nominate people who want to immigrate to Canada and who want to relocate to a specific province in the country.
The federal Express Entry immigration selection system is compatible with at least one immigration stream in each PNP. The advantages of enhanced PNP streams are that they provide Express Entry applicants with an extra 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, effectively ensuring that they will be extended an invitation for permanent residence through Express Entry.
Another significant advantage is that the federal government will complete their application for permanent residence more quickly—generally within six months. A "base" stream is the alternative method of obtaining permanent residency through the PNP. Here, you apply for a PNP stream directly, and the federal government processes your application for permanent residence when you receive a provincial nomination.
